Features
OpenRDA for Wonderware

  • ODBC access to historical data using ODBC -- Historical files on a server node are accessed using SQL queries. Client/server requires only TCP/IP. Use SQL queries to find out what tags are being archived and to retrieve data for the tags that are being archived. The data access is optimized to transfer only the requested data to the client application.

  • Client/Server data access - Built-in client/server support over TCP/IP eliminates the need to install Wonderware FactorySuite network on all systems that need to get to the data.

  • Microsoft ODBC 2.5 compliant -- ODBC 2.5 on 95/NT/2000/XP and ODBC 2.10 on Windows 3.1. Full Level 1 API and most Level 2. Minimum+ SQL support. Compatible with ODBC 3.0 driver manager and applications (MS Office 97, etc.).

  • Query optimization - The data access is optimized to return the requested data with minimal impact on the server and the network.

  • No memory leaks - ensure 7 x 24 operation.

  • Compatibility with desktop tools - Access historical data from any of the popular 4-GL tools including Visual Basic, PowerBuilder, MS Access, Excel and many more.

  • Create WEB access to the Wonderware data -- You can easily WEB enable the distribution of information contained in your Wonderware system by using many of the available tools that are ODBC enabled. A good example is the Microsoft Internet Server that has extensions to HTML to allow the creation of pages with live data accessed using ODBC.

  • Redundancy - OpenRDA Servers can be run on multiple machines and exposed to the client as one logical database. This allows OpenAccess to be configured to support fail over.

  • Load balancing - OpenRDA Servers can be run on multiple machines and exposed to the client as one logical database. A server can refuse a connection if it is busy and the client will attempt to connect to another server.

  • Client-side ODBC API - connectivity available on all major platforms.
